Art at the Heart of our Village -
A Bicentenary Celebration
21st - 22nd November 2026
St. Peter Ad Vincula Church, Hampton Lucy
2026 marks an extraordinary milestone for Hampton Lucy, as St Peter Ad Vincula Church celebrates 200 years at the heart of village life.
To honour this bicentenary, the church and local community are coming together for a Festival of Art, placing creativity and shared experience at the centre of the celebrations.
The festival will bring together artists, photographers, makers and crafters, musicians, residents and families for a vibrant two-day programme that reflects the creativity found within our village and the surrounding area.
This is a celebration shaped by the community itself — whether through making, sharing, exhibiting, performing, or simply coming along to explore and enjoy the event.
Alongside the exhibition, there will be opportunities to reflect on the church as a shared village space and to celebrate the role it continues to play in community life.
In the lead-up to the festival, a series of workshops will offer the chance to have fun, create something new, and, if you wish, exhibit your work as part of the exhibition weekend.
Workshops
In the lead-up to the St Peter’s 200 Festival of Art, a series of creative workshops will offer the opportunity to come together, learn new skills and make something of your own.
Open to all levels of experience, these relaxed and welcoming sessions will provide a chance to explore different artistic mediums while meeting others from the community. Whether you are completely new to making or already enjoy creative hobbies, everyone is encouraged to take part.
We are currently planning workshops in a range of disciplines, including:
Drawing – exploring observation, mark making and simple techniques for capturing what you see.
Clay – creating small sculptural animal or bird for a Noah's Ark project..
Textiles – experimenting with fabric, stitching and texture to produce unique handmade work.
Printmaking – discovering simple printing techniques to create bold patterns and images.
Participants will also have the opportunity, if they wish, to exhibit their work as part of the Festival of Art exhibition weekend in November.
Further details about workshop dates and how to take part will be announced soon.
